Portland | Donuts, Friends and Ethical Shopping

written by JILL March 25, 2017

We just got back from a long road trip from Vancouver, BC to Los Angeles. We made a few stops along the way there and back and the last stop we made was in Portland, Oregon.

We had lunch with a fellow blogger friend, Ellie from Selflessly Styled and her husband who we did an interview with recently which you can read HERE.

We also treated ourselves to some delicious donuts from Blue Star Donuts. They were founded in Portland in 2012 and have shops all over Portland as well as in LA and Japan. They sell gourmet donuts with an elevated flavor profile from the Matcha Latte donut that I enjoyed to Raspberry Rosemary or  Chocolate Salted Almond. They were so good I wish I could have eaten every kind!

Donuts for Grownups.

Finally, we were able to get in a little shopping before we left to check out a great local ethical & sustainably sourced shop called Seven SistersThey do have an online shop that carries a majority of their accessories and beauty products and some of the clothing but the best experience and selection for the greatest items is right in their store located at #112-811 E. Burnside St, Portland, Oregon.

I wish I could have spent more time in there because from what I could see, all the items they had in their store would have fit perfectly in my closet! We were able to chat with the owner Jillian a bit and she mentioned that she had just recently spent time in Europe and stocked her shop with some great ethical brands from her travels there. She loves the idea of providing unique and less mainstream labels and products and as mentioned on their website love to support small, woman-owned businesses like our own, and predominantly carry lines by female designers and makers.

Our goal is to bring our customers timeless, high-quality items that are ethically and sustainably produced.

If you’re ever in the Portland area I would suggest to go check them out, I’m sure you’ll love everything in their shop!
