Rêve en Vert | Luxury Sustainable Designer Boutique

written by JILL September 1, 2017

Rêve En Vert is an online platform for luxury sustainable style.  All brands and designers featured on their website design clothes and accessories that are made ethically, adhere to fair trade principles and are made with sustainable materials. They sell everything from contemporary streetwear, to activewear, bags, accessories, jewelry and beauty products. Every product is made with no compromise on the quality and ethics by designers such as Carla Colour , Flippa K, Melissa Joy Manning as well as their in house brand R.E.V by Rêve En Vert.

Rêve En Vert was founded in 2013 by Cora Hilts and Natasha Tucker out of a response to the consumptive fast fashion culture that has been growing all too quickly, and have both taken it upon themselves to move towards a more sustainable lifestyle as well.

Rêve En Vert is a commitment to a better world via conscious lifestyle and fashion choices and these two fashionistas are supporting designers who are raising the standards within the industry.

These four words guide the ethics in which Rêve En Vert selects it’s brands and designers:

Organic | Natural and Organic materials are sourced with a focus on a low carbon footprint and a garment created to last a long life cycle.

Re-Made | Operating with as minimal waste as possible, recycling and upcycling old materials when plausible.

Local | An appreciation and focus on local communities and economies with some kind of value and practical support of charity and cause based programs.

Fair | A commitment to fair trade principles and a healthy respect for artisans worldwide that create the clothes that we wear. Rêve En Vert checks in on factory certification, supply chain, and fair living wages to ensure a conscious business operation.

Matt & Nat follows a simple motto, “live beautifully”. The brand describes living beautifully as appreciating the good in all of us and has strong values of social responsibility, integrity, and authenticity. Matt & Nat does not use leather or any other animal based materials, instead, they opt to focus on using innovative recyclable materials such as recycled plastic bottles.

I am featuring the black Brave Backpack, made from 100% vegan leather with the lining made from 100% recycled plastic bottles. This backpack has such a cool chic urban look, and I love how soft and comfortable it is to wear, and how easy  it is to style with just about any outfit. It also can fit a ton of with enough space to include a laptop, set of clothes, water bottle and lots more! It’s the perfect city backpack and I have been able to replace it with my purse and still feel dressed up.

Using high-quality organic fabrics, Baserange is committed to keeping a low carbon footprint, creating clothes sustainably and ethically and designing modern easy basics that will make any women look beautiful while still feeling comfortable.

I am featuring the Orleans Jumper in size M/L. It is a loose fitting sweater with wider arms holes, a a slight boat neck opening giving it a more casual chic look. The knit is very comfortable and easy to wear tucked in, sleeves rolled up or just loose open and free. It’s light enough material that you can wear on it’s own in warm weather with a pair of short or layer it for cooler days. It’s quickly become my new favourite contemporary piece in my closet.
