Last month I was invited to join Tara the owner of the blog and Instagram Conscious Connoisseur on her very first Conscious Experiences with a group of ladies (and gent) to Tuscany, Italy staying at the incredible historic home re-modeled and designed for the modern holistic luxury traveler – The Torre Di Sopra. Tom Sacchi who was our host for the week is the heir to the Torre, where he is shaping the space into a retreat for creative souls who wish to change the world for good. CONSCIOUS EXPERIENCES
The week spent in Tuscany is one I won’t forget for both the experience we had but also the wonderful relationships I made with not only the other guests but with everyone who was a part of putting together such a great time. Kiki who was the stylist and producer of the week, Tom our generous and amazing host for the week, Tommy their friend who helped with coordinating and cooking, Lauren the herbalist and our personal sommelier, and of course Tara the founder of Conscious Experiences and our daily yoga instructor.
You could really describe the week in five simple words: yoga, food, wine, conversation, repeat. But it was of course so much more than this which I will try my best to explain in short below.
We started each day with yoga in the morning, followed by the most delicious breakfast, then an afternoon trip or event. We went on a tour of Florence which was just under half an hour drive from the home and enjoyed a city exploration and spa day followed with cocktails and dinner. We spent other afternoons exploring local spots like a Slow Wine tasting event in the most gorgeous venue, participating in a natural face mask and herbal tea workshop, a winery tour and tasting at Cantina Antinori and finally eating the most delicious lunch at a local gem no tourist would ever find!
On the first evening we were serenaded by the lovely musical duo – Serena Moroni & Riccardo Mori which was such a special treat and actually brought tears to my eyes at one point. Each night followed was filled with delicious dinners from Cook Marinel, local restaurants, and personal chefs brought in such as Chef Arturo Dori and Cook Dusica Sinadinovska. We had a dinner party with DJ Simona Pellegrini one evening and finally on our last evening we were taught and showcased sacred Reinassance dancing by the talented choreographer and dancer Marco Bendoni.
I mean how special is all of that!
I was chatting with one of the other guests Kelly and something she said stuck with me that I carried with me throughout the week. She said that someone once asked her “how do you truly experience the soul of a destination?” and this question was answered for me by the end of the week not in words but from everything that happened throughout the week.
It was the best way I could have experienced Tuscany and I would recommend conscious experiences to anyone who longs to not only travel somewhere but really understand and experience the soul of a destination.
