Protein powders are constantly becoming more popular, and the industry is always changing to make room for new products. However, with so many different brands all over the globe, it’s hard to know which ones you can really trust to care about your health. Some people will go for the first protein powder that they see, without doing extra research into what exactly is contained in that product. Unfortunately, some protein powder brands do include ingredients that may prove to be harmful for your health – such as artificial sweeteners.
SIMPLE + NATURAL INGREDIENTS
Luckily, there is one brand that goes the extra step to make sure that their protein powders are completely free of additives and hidden ingredients. Naked Nutrition produces a variety of products that contain as few ingredients as possible to ensure that you get the most out of their protein powders and supplements. While other brands sweeten up their powders with artificial sweeteners and flavors, Naked Nutrition only uses natural ingredients that are produced in the United States and Canada.
Whether you’re looking for a protein powder, such as Naked Whey, or you want to try one of their supplements like Naked Energy, you can be sure that you’re going to be purchasing the highest quality product on the market. Naked Nutrition is committed to shortening the steps between their farms and their customers, meaning that their products are pure and premium.
I got the chance to try Naked Pea, which, like the name suggests, is a pea protein powder that falls under their vegan range. Surprisingly, it turns out that yellow pea protein powder is a prime source of dietary protein for those who don’t consume animal products. Naked Pea is not only produced without the use of chemicals, it is also Gluten-Free, Dairy-Free, and Soy-Free. Some of the benefits of pea protein powder include:
- Pea protein actually contains quite a large amount of amino acids that your body cannot naturally create on its own. It’s also a good source of BCAAs (branched-chain amino acids).
- It’s been shown to reduce some of the risk factors that are linked with heart disease, such as high cholesterol.
- It’s quite rich in iron too, which can be difficult to get enough of, which means pea protein powder is a great way to boost your iron levels.
So, even if you haven’t heard of the term ‘pea protein powder’ before, there are actually a lot of benefits to the product. If you’re trying to stay away from animal products, or you’re generally interested in how effective pea protein can be, why not give Naked Pea a try?
MY REVIEW + EASY RECIPE WITH NAKED PEA PROTEIN
At first I thought this was such a strange idea for a protein powder, I mean peas? But after reading about the benefits and trying it myself I was really impressed. The taste is pretty mild and you really don’t notice it much in a smoothie, even with no sugar added.
This is my basic and easy recipe I’ve been using with the Naked Pea Protein.
- 1 full ripe banana
- 1 cup of frozen fruit (strawberries, blackberries & blueberries)
- 1 cup- ish of almond milk
- 2 scoops of Pea Protein
